Notes:
-Every great civilization has a reliable river.
-For example Mesopotamia has the Tigris and Euphrates, Egypt has the Nile River, China has the Huang He River, and India has the Indus River.
-This also relates to a term called Geographical Luck, this means that the area of land simply has better natural resources all around that area than other areas of land.
Questions:
1.) The significance of the of Greece location is that it has an example of Geographic Luck. It is surrounded by a body of water. This gives the civilization or whoever lives their options to do different things that will help that area such as cooking, cleaning, or hunting.
2.) Greece has a lot of valleys as well as open grass, land, and, plains. Greece is obviously surrounded by a large body of water. There are also a lot of mountains and Islands.
3.) A lot of there surroundings, well actually all of their surroundings is basically water. One way that it affects their culture is that you have to where different clothes such as using lease and trees. Another way is the food they eat would be significantly different from us.
4.) The Ionian Sea, Aegean Sea, Thracian Sea, Sea of Crete, and The Gulf of Corinth surrounded Greece.
5.) The largest island to the south/southeast in Greece is Crete
6.) Athena and Sparta are both very very close to the sea. Athens is a Pan Hellenic sanctuary and Sparta is just a sanctuary.
